Vodacom Challenge ticket rush reaches Polokwane ahead of the Orlando Pirates vs Manchester City clash
Johannesburg, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 – The Vodacom Challenge ticket rush is reaching new heights in Polokwane with a sell-out expected at the 18 000 capacity Peter Mokaba stadium. Spectacular soccer action is expected when Orlando Pirates and Manchester City meet in the opening leg of the tournament on Saturday (15h00 kickoff).
With only 300 match tickets still available at Computicket, Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers-Hyper outlets nationwide, soccer enthusiasts are encouraged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible in order to secure their place in the crowd ahead of the 10th anniversary opener. Tickets will not be on sale at the stadium on match day.
The stadium gates will open at 11:00 on match day and 10 000 Vodacom djembe drums will be handed out to supporters who arrive early at the venue.
Following the opening encounter in Polokwane, the English club will travel to Durban to face four-time title winners Kaizer Chiefs at the Absa stadium on Tuesday, 21 July (20h15 kickoff). Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will contest the Vodacom Challenge Soweto Derby, at the newly-built Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth on Thursday, 23 July (20h15 kickoff), with the winner of this encounter to face Manchester City in the grand final at Loftus Versfeld in Tshwane on Saturday, 25 July (15h00 kickoff).
