Kaizer Chiefs fans will be delighted with the news that key midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha has extended his contract until June 2012.

The Zimbabwean international has been a stalwart for Amakhosi since joining the club in 2001, helping the club to consecutive League titles in 2003/04 and 2004/05, as well as numerous wins in domestic cup competitions.

In 2003/04 he was named Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season in the Absa Premiership, making him one of the most successful foreign imports to South Africa’s shores.

His contract extension was confirmed by Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung on the club’s official website, www.kaizerchiefs.com.

“Tinashe will be with Kaizer Chiefs for another three seasons. He has long extended his contract which was due to end in 2010 by another two years,” Motaung said.

Nengomasha made his Vodacom Challenge debut in 2002 and has since played nine matches. He will be an important part of the side that takes on Manchester City in this year’s competition too.
