Did you know that Kaizer Chiefs’ appearance in last year’s Vodacom Challenge final against Manchester United means they have played more matches in the competition than any other side?
The game against the Red Devils was their 22nd appearance, one more than Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates.
In fact, the duo’s record is remarkably similar, as Chiefs have won eight games, drawn seven and lost seven, while Pirates have won eight, drawn six and lost seven.
The Buccaneers have the better scoring record though, having netted 24 times in their 21 matches to Chiefs’ 21 goals in 22 games, while the Amakhosi have been better on defence, with just 18 goals conceded in their matches to date, while Pirates have conceded 26 goals.
