Vodacom Challenge Trivia
Did you know that the introduction of the World Cup Stadium in Port Elizabeth (The Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium) and the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane for the Vodacom Challenge this year will take the number of venues used in the Vodacom Challenge to nine?
The Absa Stadium in Durban has seen by far the most games (16), followed by the Independence Stadium in Mmabatho (8) which featured heavily in the early years of the tournament.
Other stadia to host Vodacom Challenge matches are Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace (5), Newlands (3), EPRU Stadium (3), Loftus Versfeld (3) and Soccer City (2).
The only year Durban wasn’t used was in 2004.
