Manchester City goalkeeper Stuart Taylor has described the club’s new-look frontline as “frightening” and up there with the best in the English Premiership.

The former Arsenal and Aston Villa stopper is a new recruit to the side himself, but has been the least talked about new arrival as Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz and Emmanuel Adebayor have joined the club, adding to the likes of Robinho, Craig Bellamy, Benjani Mwaruwari and Valeri Bojinov.

“I think if you look at the players we have now got up front it is frightening,” Taylor said. “The new signings have taken us to another level and put us in a position where we can compete for things. I would say that on paper it has to be up there with the best strike-forces in the Premiership and I’m glad I only have to face them in training!

“You want you defence to be good and solid, but if you are banging in the goals at the other end it doesn’t matter so much. The manager [Mark Hughes] now has plenty of options to change things during a match if he needs to try something different and hat will help us tremendously.”
