Did you know that four of the 10 previous Vodacom Challenge finals have gone to a penalty shoot-out, with Kaizer Chiefs involved in all of them and emerging victorious in three!

The first title to be decided on spot-kicks was in 2001 when Chiefs beat Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko 3-2 in the final to claim their second title.

They repeated the feat in 2003, this time against DR Congo outfit TP Mazembe, also by a 3-2 score line. The following year, however, AmaKhosi were on the losing end as they lost 4-3 on spot-kicks to another DR Congo side, AS Vita Club.

The 2006 title was perhaps the sweetest for Chiefs as they beat English Premiership giants Manchester United in the final, out scoring them 4-3 in the shoot-out after a goalless full time draw.
