SAIL is committed to ensuring a safe and secure tournament for players and spectators alike.
We work closely with our risk management consultants, Nicholls-Steyn and Associates, Stadium Management and the South African Police Services (SAPS) to ensure an incident free event.
The following PROHIBITED ITEMS may not be brought into any Vodacom Challenge 2009 Event:
- Fire arms;
- Ammunition;
- Knives;
- Any sharp/pointed metal object that can reasonably be considered to be a dangerous weapon;
- Any dangerous weapon as contemplated in section 1of the Dangerous Weapons Act 71 of 1968;
- Explosives;
- Tear gas, gas horns, mace or any dangerous chemical agents as contemplated in section 1 of the Tear-Gas Act 16 of 1964;
- Narcotics (other than those prescribed by a registered medical practitioner).
- Any form of alcohol
RESTRICTED ITEMS include
- Animals (other than guide dogs);
- Any glass or metal (e.g. can) food, beverage or condiment container (excluding perfume, medicines and insect repellent bottles only);
- Old South African flags;
- Banners of flags whose content can reasonably be considered to be vulgar, racist, sexist, discriminatory, provocative, inciting and/or offensive;
- Lasers or similar potentially disruptive light emitting or light reflective/refractive devices or objects;
- Fireworks, flares or any similar highly flammable incendiary device or object;
- Cold drinks, bottled water and any other non-alcoholic beverages;
- Any form of pre-prepared or perishable food;
- Any signs, clothing with enlarged branding or similar items with corporate branding other than official sponsors of the EVENT;
- Media equipment of non-accredited media personnel;
- Gas braai equipment, portable braai's or similar food heating equipment;
- Cool-boxes or cool-bags;
- Umbrellas;
- Televisions and radios (except small transistor radios with earpieces).
